CIRA’s Event Safety Protocols

We look forward to welcoming in-person participants at the Infinity Convention Centre in Ottawa.

CIRA is committed to the health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone who accesses our events. Please be assured that we are continually monitoring guidance from the Government of Ontario and Ottawa Public Health (OPH). We are also working closely with our event’s vendors to help you attend safely. As CIRA monitors the changing situation, we will continue to adjust our event’s plans based on known conditions at the time.

To help make your event experience as smooth as possible, please review the information below.

• What if I begin to feel unwell while at the event?
If you are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, please inform event staff and leave the venue. We recommend a visit to Ottawa Public Health’s (OPH) COVID-19 Testing and Care Information page. OPH will provide further information on next steps including testing, along with information on the nearest collection center.

• What other measures will be in place?

CIRA will follow the Provincial Health Order for gatherings and events and will comply with current seating capacities and service of food and beverage. We will encourage social distancing and boxed lunches will be served. As well, the Infinity Convention Centre has implemented enhanced cleaning measures that will be in place throughout the event, including frequent touch point sanitation, and having hand sanitizer stations throughout the building.

Safety protocols are subject to change as guidelines are updated by the Provincial Health Officer and Ottawa Public Health. As the event approaches, we ask that you continue to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19, and do not attend if you feel unwell.

Switching from in-person to virtual participation
• If you have registered to attend in-person and wish to change your registration to virtual participation, you may update your registration at anytime by signing in to the event site.

• If for any reason we are required to cancel the in-person component of our event, all registered participants will be notified, and their registration will automatically be switched to virtual participation.
