Canadians Connected, CIRA’s symposium and annual general meeting, is one of the most important internet events of the year.  In addition to an exciting lineup of industry-leading speakers, CIRA presents its accomplishments from the past year, industry developments and statistics, plans, audited financial statements and the auditor's report to CIRA members.


Powered by the internet: doing business in a post-pandemic world

According to The Future of Entrepreneurship in Canada 2021 report, there are more than nine million entrepreneurs in Canada, with two million starting their business in the past year alone. Businesses have had to pivot to online models or rethink business strategies to survive some of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. For many, the centre of gravity was offline; it is now online, and there’s likely no going back to the pre-pandemic reality. We’ve also seen consumer preferences shift like never before. How will the business community adapt after COVID-19, and what are some of the ways businesses can thrive digitally? 

We are bringing together CIRA members, the public and experts to discuss how businesses can stay relevant and resilient amidst the new normal, with the power of the internet at their fingertips. Together we will explore trends the pandemic accelerated and what the longer-term impacts could be for Canadian businesses.

CIRA will donate $10 to United Way Canada on behalf of each person who attends.
Supporting local communities and residents during a time of need is important to us. By attending the event, not only will you be supporting CIRA, you will also be supporting an organization that is working locally to build great communities for everyone.


About CIRA membership

As per the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act and CIRA's By-law, in order to participate and vote in the annual general meeting (AGM), you must have been a CIRA member at least 21 days prior to the AGM (end of day September 2, 2021) and continue to be a member at the start of the AGM.

Not a CIRA member?

Apply online ! If you’re a .CA holder, you can become a member to be part of the CIRA membership community and vote in our board elections. To be eligible to participate and vote in the AGM and board of directors election, we recommend you submit your membership application by August 23, 2021 to allow time for processing.
